The Taloches property is an authentic 18th century farmhouse.
Dating from 1877, an old Dordogne farm, Les Taloches is set in 7 hectares of woodland and meadows. Situated in Tourtoirac between Hautefort with its magnificent castle and Excideuil with its 11th century fortress and lively weekly market, and only 45 minutes from Brive airport.
On either side of a courtyard shaded by lime trees are La Châtaigne, an 18th century oak-beamed farmhouse and La Grange, a huge stone barn converted into a superb family home with its own bed and breakfast. La châtaigne is ideal for families and groups of 8 to 20 people (plus babies).
Tourtoirac is a pretty riverside village, at the centre of which is the historic abbey of Saint-Pierre-es-Liens and the remains of the old Benedictine monastery from the 12th and 13th centuries.
Within a 10 minute walk you will find a riverside bar / bistro, a restaurant, a traditional bakery, a grocery shop and a beautiful river for paddling.
A 5 minute drive away, on the outskirts of the village, are the fascinating caves - La Grottes de Tourtoirac.
Tourtoirac also hosts an annual week-long music festival in August (genres ranging from classical to jazz to Celtic) and for keen cyclists, the Lawrence of Arabia route runs through the village.
